oh gads I am so lazy these days; I mean uni's fun and all but I get tired really easily I dunno why.
And then I end up wanting to do a whole bunch of arty/writerly things that have nothing to do with school. Mostly I just want to get this year over with so I can move on to the fun stuff, like my major subjects and the reeeally cool electives I'm shooting for. All fingers crossed.
Before semestral break ended, I hauled my butt off to the nearby zoo to do some life drawing. It's a relatively small zoo and there isn't much to see, so most people wouldn't consider returning there after having visited it already. But I like it precisely because it's so small--not like those giant zoos where you have to walk a bazillion miles between enclosures and vacant benches are virtually unheard of--and it's fairly easy to get to. I've also grown attached to quite a few of the animals. c: I had a couple of sketches that turned out pretty good, and some others that are just plain silly. See if I can upload those sometime; I want to get better at drawing realistic animals. I also got sis an animal anatomy drawing book for her birthday, which I'm planning to borrow so I can practice even more!
Inspirational Thing of the Day: Bryan Konietzko's photoblog! I know he's mostly known for being the co-creator of ATLA, but he's also an amazing photographer and I love looking at his stuff. I read about his trip to China with Michael Dante DiMartino when they were planning Season 2, and he said they ran around the Forbidden City taking photos; wish I could see those, they must've been great too.
Catch you later fridgidaaaaires!
